Silent Night

by Amelia

Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Sleep in heavenly peace.

She slipped through the doors praying for sanctuary against harm,
The noise of steps so late at night was heard giving him a presence of alarm.
Josiah finding the tired worn mother soon to be sitting on the front pew,
Hearing her tale, he stepped outside, the signal brought the 6 to make 7 on cue.
She retold the tale her husband was dead, the brother wanted, the beating she did not take,
Protecting her unborn child with gun in hand shot him and escaped.

Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavely hosts sing alleluia;
Christ the Saviour, is born!
Christ the Saviour, is born!

The sound of horses riding fast into town, the seven found a release for their anger abound,
Guardians stepped down from the church to see, justice done for the angel that wept in silent sound.
Glares hardened; guns drawn, The group of evil froze knowing right would destroy their wrong.
Not a bullet was fired for heaven had spoken, into the jail cell to await the swift Law song.
Not all was over for a call came out, two went to help, five paced in slumber wait.
So much time worry began to build, fear that fate had stepped in too late.

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.
Jesus, Lord, at thy birth.

When felt not another moment could be taken, a young cry of life was heard in the night,
Gathering around mother and new born son, she says, "So much like his father I see in my sight."
The gurgles and smile from his innocent face, touches and holds the seven in unbending light.
In that moment of the new day's start, the warmth of the dawn gives them all wings in flight.
A Texas drawl softly says, "When ever we doubt or wonder why in tough times so tight,
We're reminded with the greatest gift given by heavens adorn in its magnificent might."
