I don't know if you believe in Christmas,
or if you have presents underneath the Christmas tree.
But if you believe in love, that will be more than enough
for you to come and celebrate with me.

Two different sets of eyes, from two different places along the street watched all the strange actions and attitudes of the town’s people. Both tilting their heads trying to figure out why all the rushing around and overly cheerfully voices seemed to have appeared. One saw even his best friend seem to be infected. And the other saw the same with the one they claimed. Moving closer to the saloon doors, the two sets of eyes met, both with confusion and question shining in their gaze.

For I have held the precious gift that love brings
even though I've never seen a Christmas star.
But I know there is a light, I have felt it burn inside,
and I can see it shining from afar.

Leaping from the tie post railing onto the shoulder of the man that smelled like outdoors. Her tail twitching with the uncertainty that both felt. The two leaned back and listened in hope of learning what they did not know. A knowledge that seemed to grasp all but them, causing a feeling of loss, loneliness and the normal town warmth dimming.

Christmas is a time to come together, a time to put all differences aside.
And I reach out my hand to the family of man
to share the joy I feel at Christmas time.

So consumed with the emotions they felt, neither noticed the circle of six shadows that covered them until it was too late. Two sets of eyes looked up and, in that moment, though they still didn't understand, the feelings of aloneness disappeared. The two were ushered in out of the cold and into the warm saloon, back to their table with drinks for the men and a bowl of roasted nuts for their furry friend.

For the truth that binds us all together, I would like to say a simple prayer.
That at this special time, you will have true peace of mind
and love to last throughout the coming year.

Words were softly spoken from one and from the other in a southern drawl. Two sets of eyes filled with understanding of something they had never known. Vin and Miss Teri let go of the tension that had held them to their core. Yet even though they had not before, now knew it never would disappear, they would celebrate with those they were bound to forever.
