"TALES FROM THE NEVERENDING STORY"
The sudden death of Bastian Bux's mother leads the twelve-year old boy to seek solace in his imagination. Inspired by a magical book given to him by an eccentric bookseller named Carl Coreander, Bastian comes in contact with an enchanted world called Fantasia, where his alter ego Atreyu is sent on a magical quest to save the Childlike Empress. But malevolent forces of conformity and emptiness threaten Fantasia's very existence. Xayide, the Dark Princess, strives to attain supreme power by sending a werewolf shape-shifter into Bastian's world to try to stop the boy from reading THE NEVERENDING STORY. As Atreyu battles the Dark Forces in Fantasia, Bastian realizes he must battle a demonic substitute teacher in his very own school.
  • Episode 1 - "Heart of Stone" - aired 10/6/2001
    • After Bastian's mother dies, he is given a book called The Neverending Story.
    • The Childlike Empress chooses Atreyu ('son of all'), a young warrior, to combat The Nothing  which is poisoning Fantasia.
  • Episode 2 - "The Nothing"- aired 10/13/2001
    • Bastian's teacher, Mr. Blank, makes him redo a school assignment during his lunchbreak.
    • Atreyu begins his quest to find a way to combat The Nothing.
   

   
"THE GIFT OF THE NAME"
Twelve-year-old Bastian Bux is given the enchanted book THE NEVERENDING STORY by Carl Coreander, an eccentric bookseller in the real world and wizard in the magical kingdom of Fantasia. As Bastian comes to terms with the recent death of his mother and his father's new love interest, he turns to THE NEVERENEDING STORY and is amazed to discover that he is not merely reading a book, but has become a character in the story. In Fantasia, the Childlike Empress is at death's door and can offer no resistance to Xayide, the Dark Princess and her evil forces. The Empress's only chance of survival rests in the hands of Bastian's alter ego Atreyu. Aided by his sidekick Fly Girl, and two fast-talking hucksters, Rip Rowdy and the Weasel-Faced Wexlerian, Atreyu finally unlocks the mystery of the Southern Oracle and makes contact with Bastian Bux, the only one with the power to save the Empress.
  • Episode 3 - "The Luckdragon" - aired 10/20/2001
    • Bastian is so caught up in reading the book that he neglects his schoolwork and his chores.
    • Atreyu meets Fly Girl and finds out the Luckdragon is actually a flying machine.
  • Episode 4 - "Deleting Mr, Blank" - aired 10/27/2001
    • BAstian figures out how to get rid of his teacher, Mr. Blank.
    • Atreyu joins up with Fly Girl and heads to the Southern Oracle.
  • Episode 5 - "The Gift Of The Name" - aired 11/03/2001
    • Wanting to earn money to buy his father a birthday gift, Bastian accepts a job at Mr. Coreander's Bookstore.
    • Atreyu goes though the riddle gate.
  • Episode 6 - "Home Sweet Home&quo; - aired 11/10/2001
    • Bastian's father decides to put their house up for sale.
    • Atreyu meets the wizard, Curiosity, who teaches him how to read.

   
   
"BADGE OF COURAGE"
As twelve-year-old Bastian Bux delves deeper into THE NEVERENDING STORY, he discovers that there's no hard line between fact and fiction. In the pages of the enchanted book, the Woodland hero Atreyu must break a promise to his friend Fly Girl in order to save her life. In the real world, Bastian finds himself faced with a similar dilemma when Fallon entrusts him with a deep, dark secret. When Bastian stands up for his best friend Lucas and takes on Connor, the school bully, Atreyu also tests the mettle of three so-called heroes by challenging them to help him defend his Woodland village against the forces of Xayide, the Dark Princess. And when Connor and Bastian join forces, the course of history in Fantasia is altered in unpredictable and unforeseen ways.

    • Bastian finds a letter addressed to him, written by his mother before her death.
    • Atreyu helps Fly Girl with her quest to find Falkor, the Luckdragon.

  • Episode 8 - "The Luck Stops Here" - aired 11/25/2001
    • Bastian discovers a secret about one of his classmates.
    • Atreyu and Fly Girl escape Dark City, but at a high cost.

  • Episode 9 - "Badge of Courage" - aired 12/02/2001
    • Bastian must fight the school bully.
    • Atreyu and Fly Girl go their separate ways; Moonchild (née The CHildlike Empress) gives Atreyu an old, rusty sword.

  • Episode 10 - "Deus Ex Machina" - aired 12/09/2001
    • When Bastian is forced to work with the school bully, Fantasia pays the price.
    • Atreyu and the Woodlanders must defend themselves against Xayide and her Dark Knights.
   

   
"RESURRECTION"
Hoping to gain control of Fantasia, Xayide the Dark Princess dispatches her agents to steal THE NEVERENDING STORY book from twelve-year-old Bastian Bux. Alerted to the danger, the Childlike Empress sends Atreyu to the wizard known as The Curiosity to prepare him for a mission to the real world. But Atreyu arrives too late. THE NEVERENDING STORY is already in the hands of the Dark Princess, and the werewolf shape-shifter Gmork is hot on the trail of Bastian. In Dark City, Xayide dares to disobey the cardinal rule against reading the book in Fantasia, and soon, she suffers the fate described in the very pages she is reading. When Atreyu defeats Gmork and the book is returned to Bastian, he inadvertently turns back the hands of time and Xayide is resurrected. She hunts down Atreyu and Fly Girl, but at the last minute, the mystical Luckdragon appears and saves the day.
  • Episode 11 - "Stairway To Heaven" - aired 12/16/2001
    • A school dance holds many unexpected things for Bastian and his friends.
    • Rip and Wex dredge the old flying machine from the lake, only to have it fall into the hands of Xayide.

  • Episode 12 - "The Visitor" - aired 12/23/2001
    • Bastian is disturbed by the attentions of the new girl in school.
    • The wizard, Curiosity, and Fly Girl prepare Atreyu to go into the real world to protect Bastian from Gmork who got turned back into a wolf.

  • Episode 13 - "The Resurrection" - aired 12/30/2001
    • Bastian takes Fallon to his secret place at school and reads to her from The Book, but they accidentally turn back time in Fantasia.
    • Atreyu and Fly Girl discover Falkor is being held by Xayide in the Chasm of Deepest Fears.
