It was bright and early Wednesday morning as Chris stepped off the elevator and headed down the hallway in the direction of Team Seven's office, balancing a coffee and donut in one hand and the morning's issue of the Clarion News in the other. He glanced around the office bullpen, noticing it was rather quiet and figured he must be the first to arrive. When he reached his private office he realized that was not the case . . . immediately he noticed his office door was closed and heard hushed voices coming from behind it. He was about to walk in to see who was using his office so early in the morning when he overheard some of the conversation and paused.

"Slide it in . . ." said a female that Chris thought sounded like the Team's computer tech, Jessica. She was the guru with computers, knowing anything and everything about them and his team often turned to her when faced with computer problems.

"How about that?" replied another voice that Chris suddenly realized was the team's youngest member, JD Dunne.

"Just a little farther," said Jessica in a breathless voice. "You don't have to be so gentle JD, you can put it in a little harder."

JD replied in a low voice, "How's that? Is that hard enough?"

Jessica responded, "A little harder. . .harder. . ."

JD said, "I don't think I can do it any harder. . ."

"That's it!" Jessica exclaimed "Now hold it . . . don't move. . ."

The Team Leader's eyebrows raised at what it sounded like the couple was doing . . . in his office no less.

"Are you almost done?" asked JD. "I'm goin' numb here. . ."

"Almost," countered Jessica "can you wiggle it to make sure we're up?"

A blush crept across Chris' cheeks as he mentally made a note that he should replace his desk and chair especially after what JD and Jessica were doing in there.

"We're up!" announced JD proudly. "Wow! That was quick."

"See, I told you I was fast," replied Jessica.

JD replied "Yeah, I just never met anyone that did it as fast as you. It usually takes me at least half an hour."

"Hey Chris," said Josiah who had just entered the office and noticed the leader standing by his closed office door. "What's going on?"

The ATF Leader turned at the sound of his friend's voice, looking as if he had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. "Josiah," replied Chris who had stepped away from his door as he contemplated how to explain what he thought was going on in his office. It was at this time his door opened and JD and Jessica emerged.

"Mr. Larabee," said Jessica as she smiled "you're all set . . ." A confused look crossed over the team leader's face as he wondered how what they were doing could affect him, save for the fact that he now needed new furniture. Jessica continued, "Your new hard drive has been installed."

"Hard drive?" repeated Chris as he watched JD place the old computer part on the nearby cart.

Jessica nodded as she replied "Yep . . . remember we were doing the installations today . . . JD volunteered to help me. . ."

"That's right," said Chris who was trying to sound as if he remembered what the young woman was talking about. "Thanks for your help. . ." He walked into his office and closed the door. Sitting in his chair he shook his head at his overactive imagination, and he sighed in relief that he wouldn't need to come up with a believable excuse for replacing a perfectly good desk.
