WHAT IS AN INTERNET MAILING LIST? An internet mailing list is a way of sharing your thoughts and ideas with a large group of people. It enables you to send your message to one address, the "list address," from which it will be automatically forwarded to everyone else who subscribes to that list. WHO CAN SUBSCRIBE TO A MAILING LIST? Anyone who has an e-mail account can subscribe to a mailing list, however some lists have age requirements and many have rules about what is and is not allowed as a topic of discussion. Some lists generate only a few messages a month while others may fill your mail box with several hundred messages in a single day. Not every list is the right one for every person, but you can always unsubscribe if you find a list is not to your taste, or you are getting more mail than you can read. The best way to find a list that is enjoyable to you is to subscribe to those which are geared to a topic you are interested in and try them out. HOW DO I JOIN A MAILING LIST? One good way to do it is to check out web pages for subjects that interest you and look for links to mailing lists that are devoted to that subject.
